The Fender CD-60S has been one of the best selling fender acoustic guitars for a few years now. The CD-60S features a solid spruce top and a richer lively tone.

It really is a great quality dreadnought acoustic guitar for beginners and intermediate players.

Let’s take a look at the specs of this guitar.

The CD-60S features a solid spruce top and this is supported by scalloped x-bracing. The back and the sides are made from laminated mahogany, and it has a mahogany neck with a 20 fret rosewood fingerboard. It is available in both spruce & mahogany models.

The fingerboard has a 12-inch radius and the neck features Fender’s new easy to play neck profile with slightly rounded fingerboard edges, which they call a ‘Comfort Neck Carve’. This guitar is very comfortable to play because it’s not too chunky, and it’s not too thin.

Cosmetically, the Fender CD-60S is available in natural or black and there’s also a left-handed option available for those who are left-handed guitar players.

It’s also worth noting that this guitar also comes fitted with 2 strap buttons so you won’t need to tie a guitar strap around the headstock, which is something that can be very annoying.

Fender has refined their acoustic lineup, and this guitar falls into their ‘classic series’ of design, so this model basically looks like a classic acoustic guitar like we all have come to know and love over the years. It doesn’t have any designs that would depart that we would consider a classic dreadnought in this particular case. It also has been upgraded with some nice playability features, and some features to refine and bring out additional tone in this instrument.

Since this is a new model, the letter ‘S’ in the name Fender CD-60S implies one of the biggest changes, and this means that this is now a solid spruce/mahogany top. The old CD-60 was a laminate top which is still available in their lineup.

What i love the most about this guitar is that because it’s solid, it’s going to age well – just like any other solid wood instrument will. This means that over time this instrument is going to keep sounding better and better each time you play it.

Another great thing about this guitar is its price. It comes from a well-known and well-respected guitar manufacturer, so when compared to some other guitars in the market, this instrument offers a great value for your money. If you’re a beginner or someone that just wants a guitar to play from time to time, this model will be a perfect option for you.

Overall, i would recommend this guitar to anyone that is starting out and doesn’t want to spend too much money. For a nice price tag you get a very well-rounded guitar that has everything you might need from a mid-range acoustic guitar.
